Project 365 Day #350

“We Need a Little Christmas” from the album Christmas Eve with Johnny Mathis, released in 1986

Ah, the 80s, a time when pop stars were making interesting choices when it came to Christmas music. It was a weird time for the genre. But, in 1986, Johnny Mathis came along and reminded everyone that Christmas music, Christmas albums, in fact, should really only have one goal: to get everyone in the spirit.

With this upbeat, fun version of the classic “We Need a Little Christmas” from the broadway musical Mame, Mathis reminds everyone of this simple truth.
