Project 365 Day #349

“Silver and Gold” from the album Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Soundtrack, released in 1964

Burl Ives comes out swinging and doesn’t stop until everyone is swimming in the Christmas spirit. With all of his songs on the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Soundtrack, he really proves his Christmasy status.

And lest ye think that “Silver and Gold” is the ode to unfettered capitalism that many of the other songs and plotpoints related to Rudolph are, listen to the lyrics.

Ives just wants everyone to have pretty Christmas trees.

How nice is that?

See what else I’ve placed on Project 365 here.
