Project 365 Day #237

“One Way Or Another” from the album Parallel Lines, released in 1978
Debra Harry and her band of merry men make music for the masses. Say that 10 times fast, why don’t you? Of all of their hits, “One Way Or Another” is the one that really does it for me. It’s the story of a stalker told from the point of view of a stalker, but — and the but is very important here — Harry takes that point of view.
It mocks the man who was obsessed with her, by becoming him. “Look at how ridiculous you are,” she says using his own behaviors to make the lyrics of one of Blondie’s biggest hits.
Genius.
