Project 365 Day #214

“I’ve Got a Woman,” released in 1954

I’m sure you’ve heard Kanye West’s take on this Ray Charles ditty. You know, the one that completely flips the sentiment of the original, turning a good girlfriend into a bad one?

While I’m not here to criticize that one, I am here to tell you that the original is superior. But, I mean, it’s by Ray Charles, so it stands to reason, right?

Anyway, an upbeat song by a man talking about how awesome his girlfriend is doesn’t really come along often enough.

Maybe that’s because Charles kind of locked that concept down a long, long time ago.

See what else I’ve placed on Project 365 here.
