The Presidents of the United States of America is one of my favorite bands. With their irreverent songs and garage rock style, they could have only come to prominence in the 1990s, that sweet, innocent time. For my money, “Candy” is their best song.
It has the fun sound of their biggest hits, “Lump” and “Peaches” and keeps that unique voice. It’s kind of sad. It’s kind of fun. It’s kind of a little bit of everything.
In many ways, The Presidents of the United States of America are a musical force to be reckoned with. Their lack of mainstream appeal can probably be blamed on that. Sometimes a band is just too real, you know?
