Project 365 Day #209

“Freewill” from the album Permanent Waves, released in 1980

Some of us struggle with the concept of freewill, particularly those of us who have experienced the strange religious rituals at your local conservative church (pick the denomination of your choice).

The main thing that pulls me into this song, aside from the slamming rock sound is the sincere certainty to the lyrics. “You choose whatever you want, a god, IDC. Me? I’m going to choose free will.”

Because of my particular set of experiences, that message speaks to me very, very loudly.

But I still have to turn it up whenever I hear it.

See what else I’ve placed on Project 365 here.
