Project 365 Day #206

I’m an owl.
Wanna fight about it?
“Fly By Night” by Rush
“Fly by Night” from the album Fly By Night, released in 1975
I was not joking when I wrote, “we have now reached the point on the project in which gush about Rush for a few days.” Today’s hit is “Fly By Night” from the album of the same name. Drummer Neil Peart wrote the lyrics for most of the songs on this album, this one notwithstanding. And he really came into his own as a lyricist with it.
I mean, just the opening verse hits hard:
“Why try? I know why
This feeling inside me says it’s time I was gone
Clear head, new life ahead
It’s time I was king now, not just one more pawn”
Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, obviously, wrote the music, so we can’t leave them out either. We never should.
