Sometimes you look back and see all of the awesome stuff you were digesting years earlier, not realizing just how awesome it was. If ubiquitousness is any sign of a song’s success, this song is successful. Featured in many movies, etc, “Say Hey (I Love You)” is one of Michael Franti’s biggest hits. Somewhere between hip hop, raggae, funk, and folk, Michael Franti and Spearhead’s sound isn’t for everyone.
But it is for me because sometimes you just need music that makes you feel good.
