Project 365 Day #169

“Blackbird” from the album The Beatles (The White Album), released in 1968

Inspired by Bach, racial tension in the Southern United States, and an actual singing blackbird, this number, written by Paul McCartney (maybe you’ve heard of him) is a simple, beautiful little song that expresses peace like no other.

A quiet song, “Blackbird” captures a calm, meandering wonder while simultaneously offering a hint of sadness. This two minute long song is surprisingly complex, which, I guess, should be no surprise considering who wrote it.

See what else I’ve placed on Project 365 here.
