“She Talks to Angels” from the album Shake Your Money Maker, released in 1990
A sad, power ballad about a goth girl who is into heroin, this song just hits different, you know what I mean? When I first hear it, I was too young to understand all of the nitty gritty of the music, but the more I grew, the more I experienced, the more I realized that it is a pretty profound little exploration of complete sadness.
I equate it to John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath that way.
