Project 365 Day #355

“Children, Go Where I Send Thee” from the album Sugar & Booze, released in 2019

I absolutely love these songs whose origins are shrouded in mystery. Who wrote “Children, Go Where I send Thee”? When was it written? Why was it written? What, exactly, is it about?

I think the right answer to all of those questions is Christmas. I also think Ana Gasteyer prooves it with her rousing rendition from 2019. It’s like a paradox. It is both a hymnal and a party song.

I see you, Ms. Gasteyer. I see you.

See what else I’ve placed on Project 365 here.
