There is a vicious rumor that some people think women have not had much of an impact on hip hop. I have no idea how that rumor started but I can tell you it is fake news.
Eve, for instance, has had a great impact on hip hop. Somewhere nicely tucked between pop and more traditional hip hop, Eve’s poetry and accompanying beats introduced many a young mind to the genre years ago.
“Let Me Blow Ya Mind” is one of her biggest hits because it is somehow both smooth and hard edged. It makes you want to dance and relax. All in all, it is a masterpiece.
