Project 365 Day #250

“A Pirate Looks at 40” from the album A1A, released in 1974

Another unique hit in Jimmy Buffett’s repertoire, instead of pure, unvarnished escapism, “A Pirate Looks at 40” tells a story of regret and wonder. It isn’t all fun and games for my boy Buffett. This isn’t to say that his songs about fun and games are bad. I enjoy them a lot, actually.

But these songs that speak to how hard can be are the ones that really speak to me.

I’m not sure why…
