Project 365 Day #231

“Cocaine Blues” from the album At Folsom Prison, released in 1968

A song that was old when Johnny Cash performed it, “Cocaine Blues” is one of the finest cautionary tales in our musical library. Jealousy is a terrible thing and the infamous Willy Lee (whose name, incidentally, is not Jack Brown) is the hack who shot his woman down… because he grew jealous.

Don’t let jealousy make you do something stupid folks, listen to Johnny Cash’s narrator, Willy Lee.

See what else I’ve placed on Project 365 here.
