Project 365 Day #219

“If I Were a Carpenter” by Johnny Cash & June Carter Cash
“If I Were a Carpenter” released in 1970
Legend has it June Carter Cash was self-conscious about her voice. This blows my mind because I think it is beautiful. On full display in “If I Were a Carpenter,” her voice might not be traditional, but it is strong. The fact that she can stand toe-to-toe with Johnny Cash is proof enough.
And hearing the two of them sing “If I Were a Carpenter,” a love song about just being enough, really pulls on the heart strings, you know?
