As I’ve mentioned before, I love Tom Petty’s music. One of the main aspects of his music that appeals to me is the storytelling. Most of his songs tell stories that kind of take me someplace. “You Don’t Know How it Feels” is no exception.
In the song, Petty reminds us of one important fact: No one knows how it feels to be anyone else. He also tells us that this isn’t that big of a deal though because if we can all just hangout for a little bit, talk to each other, and get to know one another, chances are pretty high we’ll come close enough to knowing.
That’s all we can ask for.
